Join us in shaping a new era in space and find a career that's built for you.The Lockheed Martin Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) team is seeking an experienced System Engineer to be part of a team developing missile defense technology that could forever change our ability to deter and respond to adversity. As a Systems Engineer on NGI, you should have a complete understanding of at least one of the key system subject areas with the opportunity to work in all fields to include systems definition, decomposition, allocation, traceability, maintenance, verification/validation, system integration, analysis, and test.Some of the roles and responsibilities you will leverage your expertise and talent to accomplish include, but are not limited to, the following:Support major program reviews, including SRR, PDR, and CDRParticipate in specification and interface development/documentation, and support the development of verification plansYou may also have the opportunity to participate in system-level analyses in support of mission planning/execution and tests at various test ranges. Some travel will be required ~10%Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systemsAnalyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposalEnsures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraintsPerforms functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specificationsBasic Qualifications:Experience and full knowledge of processes in one or more of the following areas:Systems Engineering approach and processesRequirement definition, decomposition, and allocationInterface definition (ICD, IBDs, IDDs)Missile system analyses used in requirement derivation and verificationPlanning and coordinating hardware and/or software testing for verificationSystem integrationSupporting SRR, PDR, CDRWriting specifications and/or formal, peer reviewed technical documentsUsing DOORS Requirements Management softwareModeling with Cameo softwareAt least Interim Secret Clearance required to start workEligibility and willingness to obtain Final DoD Secret ClearanceDesired Skills:Knowledge and experience in electrical/electro-mechanical designExperience with the following:Working with the Missile Defense AgencyPresenting at major reviewsHardware/Software DevelopmentMissile or Weapon System DevelopmentCONOPS or Architecture DevelopmentSupport to System Level trade studiesRequirement VerificationActive or Current Secret Security ClearanceProficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practicePay Information:Full-Time Salary Range: $ - $ At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
