Software EngineerWe're looking for a meticulous, Rust-loving Software Engineer to join us on the ground floor, with runway for huge and immediate impact.In this role you'd be joining our Platform team, which works on a diverse set of problems, ranging from low-level driver and kernel development all the way up to interfacing with the complex perception algorithms running locally on the robot, with high performance expectations and very limited computes.If you're passionate about Rust and driven by high levels of ownership and solving complex problems, we'd love to chat!What you'll do:Build software systems that can range from building compute graph pipelines, auto-update of software/firmware, enabling delightful, multi-modal (gestures, voice, etc.) interactions to network systems for debugging and loggingEnable very fast robot and device data transfer protocols that feel like magic to users, including designing secure, efficient, and robust software for real-time data and video transferPerform root cause analysis of system crashes and fix issuesRecognize opportunities to create tools and improve infrastructure for more developer efficiencyClosely collaborate with the Software, Algorithms, and Hardware teams to bring product vision to life that changes the perception of what's possibleBe an integral member of our small software teamWhat we look for:Fluency in Rust, good to have C, C++Familiarity with a systems scripting language, such as Shell or PythonFamiliarity with userspace Linux programming and conventionsProven track record of building great softwarePride in your programming and attention to detailComfort with a fast-paced, startup atmosphere -- you don't shy away from the hard workHigh level of maturity, ownership, and pride in your workWe'd love to hear from you if...You are genuinely motivated to help those around youYou are passionate about learning outside of your normal comfort zonesYou love diagnosing complex technical issuesYou are excited to do great workYou are excited about taking ownership on a wide range of systems and drive projects from concept through shippingCompensation:Base $120,000 — $200,000. Actual Compensation will depend on skills, experience and qualifications. Base Salary is one part of the total compensation package.
