Mid-Level Systems EngineerWe're looking for a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to play a key role in delivering mission-critical GEOINT capabilities across the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and other partner Federal Agencies. In this role, you'll support the entire systems engineering lifecycle—from requirements analysis and architecture design to testing, integration, and sustainment. Your contributions will ensure GEOINT systems are reliable, resilient, and aligned with evolving mission needs.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform systems engineering tasks across all phases:Requirements analysisSolution and service architectureScheduling and integrationReliability and resiliency engineeringTesting, evaluation, and maintainabilityAnalyze and trace user and system requirements to architecture and design componentsReview and recommend improvements to cloud services, workflows, and scheduling systemsDesign technical solutions based on emerging technologies and mission needsMentor junior engineers and support skills development in systems engineeringTranslate mission and customer needs into capability requirements and solution designsSupport system integration efforts and ensure seamless implementationContribute to:Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs)Courses of Action (CoAs)Trade studies and engineering assessmentsAssist with strategic planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface designEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree or higher in:Systems Engineering or a related technical/scientific field such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems or six plus (6+) years of relevant Systems Engineering experience in lieu of a degreeMinimum of six (6) years of experience in government or industry in one or more of the following areas:DoD or Intelligence Community (IC) Acquisition ProcessesRequirements development processesPPBES (Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System)Systems engineering of large, complex System of Systems (SoS) or Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)/Cloud environmentsDesired Qualifications:Technical Knowledge & SkillsWorking knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including related tools, languages, and methodologiesFamiliarity with Software Development FrameworksWorking knowledge of one or more of the following domains:PhotogrammetryRemote sensingImage scienceInformation sciencesGeographic Information Systems (GIS)GeomaticsRelated geospatial fieldsINCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) certificationDocumented work experience in the Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) fieldMembership or active participation in professional organizations such as:ACSM (American Congress on Surveying and Mapping)ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers)ASPRS (American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing)OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium)SAREM (Society for American Remote Earth Monitoring)USGIF (United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation)Demonstrated knowledge of the current NSG (National System for Geospatial-Intelligence), ASG (Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence), and NRO (National Reconnaissance Office) enterprisesLocation:Springfield, VAThis position is onsite and there is no remote availabilityClearance Requirement:Active TS/SCI clearance with CI PolygraphApplicant MUST hold a permanent U.S.
