# Systems Administrator Hybrid

## Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on **Systems Administrator** to support a hybrid environment spanning on-premises infrastructure, data center systems, networking, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex infrastructure, working directly with servers and networking equipment, supporting cloud environments, and improving operations through automation.

The Systems Administrator will work closely with engineering, networking, security, vendors, and business stakeholders to maintain reliable, secure, and scalable IT systems. This position combines traditional systems administration with data center operations, cloud infrastructure, networking, and project-based deployment work.

**Work Arrangement:** Hybrid approximately 2 3 days onsite with additional remote flexibility based on operational requirements.

## Key Responsibilities

* Administer and support Windows Server and Linux systems across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
* Monitor infrastructure health, availability, capacity, and performance and proactively address potential issues.
* Troubleshoot Level 2 and Level 3 server, network, operating system, hardware, and connectivity issues.
* Install, configure, upgrade, relocate, and maintain enterprise servers, network equipment, and supporting infrastructure.
* Support data center operations including rack-and-stack, cabling, hardware replacement, system deployment, and infrastructure moves, adds, and changes.
* Configure and troubleshoot networking technologies including VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and network access.
* Support Cisco networking equipment and F5 load-balancing environments.
* Administer and troubleshoot AWS and Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, VPC/VNet environments, security groups, network access, and cloud connectivity.
* Assist with hybrid-cloud connectivity between corporate, data center, and cloud environments.
* Manage Windows Server administration tasks including system configuration, patching, permissions, services, logging, and troubleshooting.
* Use Linux command-line tools and PowerShell for system administration, diagnostics, and automation.
* Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell and Python to automate routine administrative tasks.
* Utilize tools such as Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes where appropriate to improve infrastructure deployment and management.
* Perform hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting involving servers, CPUs, memory, network interface cards, storage, and related components.
* Coordinate infrastructure changes using established change-management and approval processes.
* Maintain accurate technical documentation including network diagrams, system configurations, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting documentation.
* Work with third-party vendors and internal engineering teams to coordinate hardware installations, upgrades, and infrastructure projects.
* Assist with system security, access controls, firewall policies, patching, and infrastructure hardening.
* Support backup, recovery, monitoring, and disaster-recovery procedures.
* Participate in infrastructure projects involving server refreshes, data center migrations, network upgrades, cloud deployments, and system modernization.
* Provide technical guidance to users, support teams, and project stakeholders.
* Participate in an occasional after-hours maintenance window or on-call rotation when critical infrastructure support is required.

## Required Qualifications

* 5+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure support, data center operations, network support, or a similar technical role.
* Strong experience troubleshooting enterprise hardware, operating systems, networking, and infrastructure.
* Hands-on experience supporting both Windows and Linux systems.
* Experience working within enterprise data centers or large-scale infrastructure environments.
* Working knowledge of Cisco networking technologies including routers, switches, VLANs, and network troubleshooting.
* Experience with firewalls, load balancers, or application-delivery infrastructure.
* Familiarity with F5 load balancers is strongly preferred.
* Experience supporting AWS, Azure, or another major cloud platform.
* Understanding of cloud networking concepts including VPCs, VNets, security groups, DMZs, and hybrid connectivity.
* Experience using PowerShell, Python, or another scripting language for automation.
* Working knowledge of infrastructure automation or container technologies such as Ansible, Docker, or Kubernetes.
* Strong troubleshooting skills across servers, network connectivity, operating systems, and hardware.
* Experience working with enterprise change-management procedures and technical documentation.
* Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, vendors, users, and business stakeholders.

## Preferred Qualifications

* Experience supporting large enterprise, banking, telecommunications, manufacturing, or high-availability data center environments.
* Experience working with large-scale compute environments, GPU systems, or high-density server deployments.
* Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
* Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise identity systems.
* Experience with monitoring and observability platforms.
* Familiarity with enterprise storage, NAS, SAN, or distributed storage environments.
* Experience supporting infrastructure deployments involving multiple technical teams and vendors.
* Exposure to ITIL, change control, incident management, or enterprise service-management practices.
* Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, AWS, Azure, Cisco, Linux, or CompTIA certifications are beneficial but not required.

## What Success Looks Like

The successful candidate will be someone who can move comfortably between the server room, cloud console, command line, and project meeting.

You should be able to diagnose a connectivity problem, troubleshoot a server, coordinate a hardware deployment, work with a networking team, automate a repetitive process, and explain the issue clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This role requires someone who is technically curious, dependable, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of infrastructure problems from diagnosis through resolution.
