This position supports the high-visibility Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization, responsible for the delivery and security of MPO's Enterprise Information Technology (EIT), the foundation for enterprise-wide services. As a Systems Engineer, you will work alongside customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and vendors to support the implementation and compliance of advanced EIT capabilities through Data Center & Compute Services.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Daily troubleshooting of Linux, Windows, Red Hat 6, 7, 8, and 9 Operating SystemsProviding Ubuntu supportOversee cross-platform virtual machine lifecycles across Linux hypervisor environments (possibly Windows), optimizing resource allocation and compute capacity.Maintain and manage various versions of OpenStack across multi-region deploymentsTroubleshoot issues across Agency GOTS OpenStack platformsWrite and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible and PuppetMay include developing end-to-end Python and Bash scripts to automate daily operational tasks, reduce manual toil, and streamline system provisioning workflowsManage YUM repos (GOTS repository management)Utilize Naemon and Grafana diagnostic tooling to execute systemic performance analysis and proactively address health degraded states.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline with 14 years of relevant experience as a Systems Engineer OR 19 years of Systems Engineering experience with no degree.IAT II certification (DoD 8140 required upon start of employment.
