Infrastructure Systems EngineerThis position requires in office 3 days a week at our Kelly Benefits Headquarters located in Sparks, MD. Minimum hours are 8:15 am to 5:00 pm.Purpose Of PositionSupport and manage Kelly Benefits infrastructure systems through their complete life cycle (design, procurement, installation, maintenance). This includes but is not limited to Cisco switches and routers using various network protocols, Windows servers, system backups, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), and other information technology deemed critical to business operations.Duties And ResponsibilitiesMaintain network operations on a day-to-day basis for a complex network of 400 VDI desktops and over 500 virtual servers as part of the Infrastructure Support teamTroubleshoot and proactively monitor networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficultiesProvide documentation of network operating systems and network topologyImplement authorized network enhancements and special projects as assignedPerform necessary patching and application updates to server infrastructure, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), and supporting systemsImplement, manage, and maintain infrastructure monitoring solutions to ensure availability of Kelly Benefits systemsImplement, manage, and maintain the availability of all file sharesSupport and maintain recovery systems and operations, including maintaining backup system configuration, performing backup system upgrades, monitoring backups, and performing restores as needed for business resiliencySupport the organization in the design and implementation of network components, including support of development systems and assistance with testingRecommend new and emerging technologies to solve Kelly Benefits business problemsParticipate in the design of infrastructure systemsProvide mentorship and guidance to junior System EngineersParticipate in a rotating on-call support schedule as neededPerform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by Information Technology Management to maintain systems availability and business operationsMinimum QualificationsBachelor of Science degree in Information Technology or Computer Science preferred5–10 years of System Engineering experience or demonstrated equivalent work experience and industry accreditationTechnical certification training from Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix, or other infrastructure-related certificationKey CompetenciesInformation SeekingAnalytical ThinkingLearning AgilityQuality FocusTime ManagementCreativity & InnovationPlanning and Priority SettingKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Key Success FactorsExpert experience in Microsoft operating systems (workstation and server)Expert experience implementing and supporting Citrix VDI environments (Citrix DaaS preferred)Expert experience with profile management systems within a VDI environment (FSLogix preferred)Experience supporting Nutanix hardware and Nutanix AHVStrong technical understanding of Windows infrastructure services (e.g., AD, GPO, CIFS, Client)Experience with VMware ESXi in a clustered environmentExperience configuring and allocating storage using SANsExperience supporting fileshare management systems (Resilio preferred) and backup operations (Commvault preferred)Strong experience configuring and maintaining Cisco switches, routers, and security appliancesStrong scripting skills to automate operations (Batch, VBScript; PowerShell and/or Perl a plus)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience with certificate managementDetail-oriented, security-conscious, and proficient in troubleshootingStrong written and oral communication skills for effective documentation and business case developmentAbility to troubleshoot technical problems with tact and focus, even under extreme pressure during outagesStrong time management skillsAbility to administer large and complex computer networks
