Amentum is seeking a Systems Engineer Lead - SysML to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC).
nEssential Functions:
nModel-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
nDevelop, maintain, and mature SysML system models representing functional, logical, and physical architectures.
nEstablish bidirectional traceability between requirements, interfaces, behaviors, and verification artifacts.
nAuthor and maintain requirement diagrams, block definition diagrams, internal block diagrams, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, interface models, and parametric models.
nSupport digital engineering initiatives ensuring models function as authoritative sources of truth.
nRequirements & Interface Management
nDecompose customer and enterprise-level requirements into subsystem allocations.
nMaintain requirements traceability matrices and digital linkages within the model.
nSupport Interface Control Working Groups (ICWGs) and configuration control boards.
nIdentify interface risks and integration gaps across range subsystems.
nIntegration & Test Support
nSupport verification and validation (V&V) planning through model-derived verification mapping.
nAssist in development of integration test strategies across Eastern and Western Ranges.
nProvide model-based impact assessments for engineering changes.
nSupport anomaly resolution and structured root cause investigations.
nRisk & Configuration Management
nContribute to risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning.
nSupport configuration management processes ensuring models remain aligned with baselined documentation.
nParticipate in change management boards and technical governance reviews.
nCross-Functional Coordination
nInterface with government stakeholders, Subsystem Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), cybersecurity, safety, and sustainment teams.
nProvide technical assessments to SEIT leadership.
nRequired Skills:

nRequired Experience:
nBachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
n5+ years of systems engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or complex infrastructure systems.
nDemonstrated hands-on experience with SysML and MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, Capella, or equivalent).
nExperience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama, or similar).
nWorking knowledge of requirements decomposition, interface management, integration and verification processes, and configuration control.
nMust be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship.
nValid Drivers License.
nPreferred Qualifications:
nExperience supporting launch operations, range systems, or mission-critical operational systems.
nFamiliarity with digital engineering strategies aligned to DoD guidance.
nExperience working across geographically distributed engineering teams.
nExposure to reliability, maintainability, and availability (RMA) considerations.
nUnderstanding of cybersecurity integration within system architecture.
nCompensation Details:
n$105,000-$110,000 annually
