The Channel's founding Technical Board Members include former government leaders and IT executives passionate about bringing best-of-breed technology to the government.We are seeking a skilled and experienced Systems Engineer IV to join our team!The Systems Engineer IV is a senior-level engineering professional responsible for the design, development, integration, and evaluation of complex systems, with a focus on in-water instrumentation and in-water systems.
This role requires deep technical expertise across multiple engineering disciplines and the ability to lead and support critical phases of system lifecycle development. The engineer operates with a high degree of independence and provides technical leadership on complex projects.ResponsibilitiesSystems Engineering & Integration:Lead the design, integration, and lifecycle management of complex in-water systems and instrumentationEnsure alignment of system requirements with operational and mission objectivesRequirements & Design:Perform detailed requirements analysis and decompositionDevelop system architectures, design documentation, and technical specificationsModeling, Analysis & Development:Conduct system-level modeling, simulation, and performance analysisSupport or lead software and hardware development effortsTest & Evaluation:Plan and execute system testing strategies, including validation and verification activitiesAnalyze test results and recommend design improvementsManufacturing & Production Support:Provide engineering support for system fabrication, assembly, and deploymentCollaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and qualityTechnical Leadership:Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staffServe as a subject matter expert (SME) for in-water systems and instrumentationDocumentation & Reporting:Prepare and review technical reports, system documentation, and engineering artifactsEnsure compliance with program, contractual, and regulatory requirementsQualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Master's degree in an Engineering disciplineTen (10) or more years of professional experience in systems engineeringDemonstrated experience with complex hardware devices, software, and integrated systemsSpecialized Experience Requirements:Must have hands-on experience supporting four (4) or more of the following system lifecycle areas:Requirements analysisSystem designEngineering analysisModeling and simulationSoftware and/or hardware developmentTest and evaluation (T&E)Manufacturing and production support*Position is contingent upon award.Location: Newport, Rhode Island, United States
