Systems Engineer IIIQuantum Sky is searching for a Systems Engineer III to join a team of expert engineers and technicians supporting a mission critical high profile government customer. The Unified Communication (UC) Systems Engineer incorporates a systems engineer approach for design, installation, interoperability and maintenance of Telephony, Video Teleconferencing, Skype and AVMM systems. The UC Systems Engineer is also responsible for incorporating commercial products and interfaces in of developmental and operational UC systems.Responsibilities:Prepare operational guidesTrain Government customers in proper use of UC systemsProvide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of UC systemsProvide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problemsManage the daily activities of configuration and operation of UC systemsProvide assistance to users in accessing and using UC systemsDocuments hardware software configuration management processes and proceduresCoordinate hardware installations across multiple sitesMaintain and develop the environment for hardware and software product build, staging, testing and integrationApply concepts and define and implement hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures, such as creating product build scripts and procedures, and integrate those scripts with the hardware and software build processConduct analysis on UC systems by ensuring designs are cost efficient, able to be integrated, and reliableCommunicate with the other engineering personnel to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completionDesigns, documents, and develops code for programmable devicesAnalyze complex hardware systems, hardware design, architecture, network design and other technical hardware issuesPerform testing on equipmentProvide hardware maintenance support, both preventative and remedialDeploy, install, and implement UC at Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS)Conduct site surveysStreamline control system interfaces to be fully automated and maximizes user experienceConfigure control systems, communications devices and peripheral equipmentDevelop costing proposals for the program managerPerform telecommunications punch block installation and maintenance for serial copper data pathsInterpret drawings, specifications, and other related documentsDesign a wide variety of UC solutions including multi-level security systems, enterprise level collaboration systems, conference rooms, classrooms, command centers, auditoriums, digital signage, and streamingActs as equipment custodian and performs inventory asset management and accountability functionsAssist in defining and implementing hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures, such as creating product build scripts and procedures, and integrating those scripts with the hardware and software build processInterpret facility and UC drawings from architects and facilities program managersOrganize and directs hardware and software version control processes and improve and maintain existing productsProvide technical leadership to level 1 and level 2 contractor engineersAct as internal consultant providing technical guidance on complex projectsOrganize and direct hardware installationsDevelop UC installation schedules based upon equipment delivery, integration complexity, and customer prioritiesPrepare drawings documenting as-built configurationsOrganize and direct teams to address critical system failuresProvides identification/fixing of problems within existing systems, design/implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systemsParticipates in analysis, design and new construction of next generation IT systemsResponsible for understanding the needs of the customers and the realities of commercially available IT products and creating requirements that will allow implementation by the development teamQualifications:Required:Technical Master's Degree and Six (6) years' experience or Associates Degree and Ten (10) years of experienceIn lieu of an Associate's Degree, an additional two (2) years' experience is required for each area identified aboveMust have solid technical background with a focus on IT systemsDesired:Experience as a systems engineer, with telecommunication, engineering, computer networking, computer science, electronics or communications on one or more IT platforms is preferredA Degree in Computer Science, Computer Networking or Engineering, Electronics, Risk Management or a directly related field is requiredClearance:TS/SCI w/Full Scope PolygraphAbout Tyto Athene:Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position.
The salary range for this position is typically between $175,000 and $185,000.
