Join us.Job SummaryThe Systems Engineer II leverages a comprehensive understanding of the company's products and technologies to facilitate cross-functional engineering initiatives. This role will support system design activities, ensure alignment with requirements and collaborate with test and validation teams to establish verification criteria.Essential ResponsibilitiesLeverage a system level understanding of our products and technologies to support cross-functional engineering effortsCreate and maintain requirement specifications by:Analyzing stakeholder, product, and safety requirements to define technical system and subsystem requirementsSupporting system design activities, assessing impact and conformance to requirementsCollaborating with test and validation team to define verification criteria for system requirementsReviewing legacy requirements to ensure completeness and correctnessEvaluate industry and regulatory requirements for applicability to May Mobility productsPerforming FMEA analysis, tracking findings to resolutionIdentify gaps in processes and propose solutions for resolutionFollow safe work procedures; Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Use of workplace tools and equipment as instructed; Report workplace hazards, injuries and illness as soon as possible.Skills and AbilitiesSuccess in this role typically requires the following competencies:Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skillsStrong attention to detail and highly-organizedAbility to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced work environmentUnderstanding of agile startup and engineering principles and mindsetAbility to display systems thinking and attention to detailDetailed knowledge of requirements management and requirement-based designCuriosity to learn and desire to improvePassionate about self-driving cars and their impact on the worldStrong working knowledge of ADAS/Autonomous Vehicle systemsEffective communication with cross functional stakeholdersAbility to independently determine approach to high-level direction and tasks, escalating when necessaryQualifications and ExperienceCandidates most successful in this role typically hold the following qualifications or comparable knowledge or experience:RequiredBachelor's Degree from an accredited university3+ years experience in automotive engineering working on software, hardware, or combined hardware/software productsDesirableA Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent experienceKnowledge of automotive and autonomous vehicle technologies, such as LIDAR, radar, ethernet, and CANExperience in Autonomous Vehicles, Machine Learning, Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), or Mobile ApplicationsExperience working in a startupPhysical RequirementsStandard office working conditions which includes but is not limited to:Prolonged sittingProlonged standingProlonged computer useTravel required? - Minimal: 1%-10% Benefits and Perks Comprehensive healthcare suite including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability plans.
