Ground Systems EngineerThis job is with Encode, Inc a fully owned subsidiary of Lancesoft The SI&WS GMSE division creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We work with both commercial and proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space. Our team focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers.
Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements, design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments. The Ground Systems Engineer will join a high-performing team that is immersed in high intensity development projects. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work proprietary programs for U.S.
government customers who are responsible for exciting advanced technology national security missions.Position Responsibilities:Apply modern DevSecOps practices (including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, containerized deployments, and infrastructure as code) to streamline integration and test activitiesStand up, configure, and maintain secure test environments leveraging cloud-native and virtualized resourcesDrive continuous improvement of integration and test processes, incorporating automation, metrics, and lessons learned to increase efficiency and reliabilityAutomate, develop, monitor, improve, and troubleshoot across software engineering development, tooling, testing, integration, deployment, configuration processes, and security controlsReview, develop, document, and maintain system requirements and traceabilityInterface with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external customersRequired Skills:Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer scienceThis position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with an adjudicated polygraph, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. citizenship3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience with LinuxExperience with Ansible software platformExperience with Terraform softwareExperience with JIRA and ConfluencePreferred Skills:5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience leading or managing an engineering project or teamExperience with Packer, Nessus, and Trivy DevSecOps toolsExperience with AWS, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, mutual Transport Layer Security (mTLS), cert-manager, Harbor, Postgres, and WindowsExperience with Shell and Python ScriptingExperience working with Government customersActive CompTIA Security+ certificationBachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
