leads effective meetings to gather, validate and document business requirements as well as current and future state workflows, analyzes data, researches issues, and contributes to design solutions for the project. In addition, s/he may lead and/or participate in the user acceptance testing, training, and implementation of new and existing applications as defined in a project plan.The Senior Systems Business Analyst participates in all phases of the systems development life cycle – from project scoping, planning and requirements definition to issues resolution, testing, training and implementation. The Senior Business Analyst is results-oriented and understands the impact of the project on the organization as a whole.Responsibilities1.
Business AnalysisDevelop clear, concise project documentation, which require proficiency in interviewing skills, workflow analysis, dataflow diagramming, screen design, etc.Facilitate the definition of functional requirements by working with systems partners and business usersTranslate and present project concepts into effective visual images which clarify design elements and issues for both business and technical audiences.Translate system workflows into system configurationRecognize patterns in complex information and identify key issues.Identify gaps between business requirements and existing or proposed design solutionsConduct business analysis to determine how changing business needs will affect the system or product; clearly articulate the business need and potential solutions with support of insightful analysis and documented evidence2. Project ExecutionReview and assist in development of project and task plans, project workflows and resource assignments as requested by Project Manager.Ensure methodology is followed for project; provide meaningful feedback in accordance with departmental standards and guidelines.Maintain issue log; coordinate and support communications surrounding both systems and user acceptance for assigned project(s).Identify, mediate, resolve and eliminate miscommunications between business and technical project team members.Lead and/or participate in development of test strategy, test plans and test casesOversee and/or participate in test execution and document resultsAssist in the development and execution of implementation planDocument changes to workflows and procedures; conduct user training3. Project Portfolio SupportAssist Project Manager in development and tracking of portfolio of projects, including planning, resourcing, status tracking and reporting, vendor management, communication, etc.Work with Systems partners and business user to assist in project prioritization and planning processQualificationsEducation level and/or relevant experience(s)BA/BS degree and/or related work experience.5+ years of experience performing analysis and producing technical documentation for systems projects/enhancements, preferably at a financial services company.Knowledge and skills (general and technical)Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Full understanding of the business model or the area(s) supported; experience in Financial Services preferredKnowledge of all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle requiredAbility to create presentations using software such as Microsoft PowerPoint.Ability to use standard desktop tools effectively (Microsoft Office, Jira).Ability to analyze current workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.Experience in project work and project planning, as well as project management software.Written and oral communications skills
