Systems AdministratorThe Florida Department of Transportation, Office of Information Technology (OIT), is in search of a Systems Administrator to play a key role in assisting the OIT in the oversight, management, troubleshooting, and execution of cloud services and platforms to support FDOT's infrastructure, applications, data, and other business needs. The duties of this position can be broad and may include such tasks as adding and removing individuals from the list of authorized users, archiving files, overseeing password protection and other security measures, and monitoring usage of shared resources.The Systems Administrator will be responsible for working on projects, systems, and/or issues of medium to high complexity and will be expected to provide daily operations support, maintenance, and administration for Servers. This position requires ownership of complex issues in order to support Department business.Must-Have Skills5 – 8 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field3 – 5 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments in systems operations, support, maintenance, and administration2 – 3 years of experience with Server 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 20222 – 3 years of IIS Administration2 – 3 years of network communications, including TCP/IP and DNS, Samba/CIFS file sharing, and NTFS permissions2 – 3 years of strong professional experience in AWS cloud systemsIn-depth knowledge of AWS ServicesIn-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server productsIn-depth knowledge of Linux (Redhat and Ubuntu)Strong grasp of Linux administration, including Linux patchingStrong analytical skills to determine an organization's needs, develop strategies, and evaluate effectivenessAbility to troubleshoot and diagnose problems effectively regardless of technology platformAbility to document and automate administrative tasks to reduce manual workProficiency in networking principles and cloud-based network architecturesBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field (or equivalent work experience)Primary Job Duties / TasksSupport and expand FDOT infrastructureCoordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties (SDC, FDOT, and contractors)Make recommendations for future server and software upgradesMonitor systems and applications to ensure security, availability, and performanceEstablish systems by evaluating network performance issues (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, latency);
