At Chartis Federal, our mission is clear: keeping heroes safe and connected on the battlefield, on the border, and in our backyards.Chartis Federal is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to provide systems administration support for a mission-critical tactical communications environment.This role is responsible for supporting the continuous operation, performance, maintenance, backup and recovery readiness, and operational stability of communications systems infrastructure in a secure operational environment.ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, maintain, and rebuild servers and infrastructure systemsConfigure hardware, software, storage, services, directories, and related systemsPerform daily monitoring of systems, applications, logs, and operational healthConduct backup and recovery operationsPerform file archival, storage management, and system maintenanceApply operating system patches, upgrades, and security updatesSupport system hardening and cybersecurity complianceCreate, modify, and manage user accountsProvide Tier III troubleshooting and issue resolutionPerform root cause analysis for infrastructure incidentsSupport hardware/software recovery activitiesConduct performance tuning and capacity planningOptimize CPU, memory, and storage resourcesMaintain environmental monitoring equipmentDevelop and maintain system administration proceduresIdentify opportunities for automation and process improvementSupport ad hoc technical initiativesRequirementsBachelor's degree in IT, computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience5+ years of systems administration experienceStrong Windows and/or Linux systems administration experienceExperience with backup/recovery solutionsExperience with patch management and enterprise monitoringStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skillsPreferred QualificationsMicrosoft, VMware, or similar certificationsExperience in DHS or federal environmentsFamiliarity with TACCOM or secure operational systemsExisting DHS suitability or federal clearanceWork Environment / Physical RequirementsOccasional after-hours support in mission-critical environmentMust pass CBP background investigationMust comply with federal cybersecurity/security requirementsWhy Join Chartis Federal?We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:Comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision)Retirement plans with company contributionsProfessional development opportunities and career growth supportA dynamic and collaborative work environment where your contributions are valuedAt Chartis Federal, we believe in fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation while supporting critical national security missions.
