Linux System AdministratorLocation: Dahlgren, Virginia (ON-SITE) Clearance Required: Secret Certification Required: Security+ or IAT Level II Cert Top Skills Required:Minimum 8-10 years of experience in system administration of Linux-based servers and Linux-based workstationsIdeal Linux Admin will have Department of Defense experience with security guidelines and policies. (DISA STIGS) is a plusSeeking specific experience with the following operating systems and services is required: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7.x)Nice to Have:Have knowledge of corporate services including: DNS, SMTP, RHEV, Splunk, ApacheDemonstrated experience managing the installation and maintenance of IT infrastructureHardware experience with Dell systems is a plusExperience working in an environment with rapidly changing job prioritiesServiceNow ITSM Ticket Management experience -Linux+ or Red Hat Certification preferredEssential responsibilities of the Senior Linux Administrator include, but are not limited to:Utilize Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration experience to provide technical problem solving and in-depth consulting relative to system operationsAutomate installation methods and system imaging (e.g. Kickstart/Ansible)Use cryptographic experience to set up public key infrastructure (PKI) to create, manage, distribute, use, store, and revoke digital certificates and manage public-key encryptionDISA STIG implementation and work within Configuration-Managed EnvironmentsAnalyze, design, and implement modifications to system software to improve and enhance system performance by correcting errorsPlan new hardware acquisitions, interact with vendors, educate customers, and collaborate with other projects within the organizationWork closely with engineers to help them use workstations and servers to solve their computationally intensive problemsSupport application installation, license management, software tracking / distribution and backup/recovery of system configurations and user data filesUnderstand and use essential tools for handling files, directories, command-line environments, and documentationOperate running systems, including booting into different run levels, identifying processes, starting and stopping virtual machines, and controlling servicesConfigure local storage using partitions and logical volumesCreate and configure file systems and file system attributes, such as permissions, encryption, access control lists, and network file systemsDeploy, configure, and maintain systems, including software installation, update, and core servicesManage users and groups, including use of a centralized directory for authenticationManage security, including basic firewall and SELinux configurationConfigure static routes, packet filtering, and network address translationSet kernel runtime parametersProduce and deliver reports on system utilizationUse shell scripting to automate system maintenance tasksConfiguring system logging, including remote loggingConfigure a system to provide networking services, including HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SMTP, SSH and NTPThis position requires an active DoD Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, Top Secret/SCI) or the ability to be obtain an (Interim Secret, Interim Top Secret).

Because an active or interim DoD clearance is required, U.S. Citizenship is required.
