Senior Systems Administrator / Information AssuranceModern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator / Information Assurance professional to support our customer at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) in Dayton, OH. This role is responsible for designing, maintaining, and monitoring networks, implementing and managing systems, applications, security protocols, and network configurations. The System Administrator resolves network performance issues, applies upgrades, patches, and installs new applications and equipment while delivering technical support and guidance to users. The candidate will also perform information assurance duties to ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and regulatory requirements.Responsibilities:Plan, coordinate, and install applications software and hardware for multiple classified networked systemsAdminister and maintain assigned multiple systemsDevelop, review, and modify changes to schedule of operations for successful day-to-day operationsOptimize the functionality and performance of hardware and software systems and ensure availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of serversIdentify system problems that are of an unusual or complex nature and develop corrective actionsDesign data products, processes, or programs that enhance functional area management and provide for increased organization optimization of IT processesImplement formal Information Systems Security Plan while also enforcing Information System Security policiesOversee the installation and configuration of applications software and the establishment of user environmentsTroubleshoot and analyze unusual or complex hardware and software malfunctions to resolve physical and logical processing problems and recommend acquisition of equipment, software and/or hardware which will resolve operational problemsContinually survey system operation to identify and anticipate potential problems which could lead to loss or serious interruption or compromise of system availabilityIdentify corrective or preventive procedures and take actions to rectify immediate problems and prevent future occurrencesDevelop proposals to enhance operational use of systems hardware and software and keep abreast of technological advances to ensure continuous optimum serviceApply innovative techniques and seasoned judgment to assist management in identifying areas where IT systems can reduce or eliminate labor- and time-intensive manual processesAnalyze and diagnose system failures to isolate sources of problems. Performs testing, troubleshoots, and corrects complex or unusual problems involving interface and interoperability of system components such as hardware, systems software, and applications programsManage installation of system patches and enhancements/updates and ensure system integrity is not compromisedDevelop standard procedures for account establishment, system maintenance, and system recoveryEnsure maintenance and upgrade procedures are established in such a war as to minimize disruption to normal business functions of organization within the installation. This includes ensuring scheduled backups of servers and the application of upgrades or system patches will have minimum impactQualifications:Experience: Possess minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience. Have no less than three (3) years' experience in a Special Access Program (SAP) and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) environment within the last five (5) years. Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration or related roles. Hands-on expertise in designing and managing IT systems in operational environments. Strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity and information assurance requirements.Technical Expertise: Proficiency with Windows, Linux, and/or VMware administration. Knowledge of network security principles and tools.

Experience with DISA STIG implementation, RMF compliance processes, and vulnerability assessment tools (Nessus, Splunk, HBSS).Education: A Master of Arts/Master of Science/Master of Engineering MA/MS/ME degree. Years of experience may be considered in lieu of a masters degree.Security Clearance: Active Top-Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain SCI. Must be a U.S. Citizen.Certifications and Technical Expertise/Experience: DoD 8570 IAM Level II or III certification (e.g., CISSP, CAP, CISM). Certifications such as Security+, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent preferred. Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, FTP, SSH, IP CONFIG).

Experience in Technical Support, Cloud Computing, Information Security, and Compliance. Installing, configuring, and managing network switches and routers (versed in OSPF, MPLS, SDN, routing/switching on Juniper and Cisco hardware platforms).Desired Qualifications: In-depth experience supporting government environments, especially within the DoD. Advanced scripting skills for task automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python). Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

Experience working in a DoD program or product acquisition office or environment.
