Position Overview
We are seeking a System Safety Engineer to join our team, focusing on aircraft and system safety analyses including SAE ARP4761, ARP4754, and MIL-STD-882.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop artifacts at aircraft level.
- Analyze high-integrated functional systems problems.
- Conduct SAE ARP4761 analyses: AFHA/SFHAs, PASA/PSSA/ASA/SSA, ZSA, CMA.
- Perform MIL-STD-882 analyses: PHA, O&SHA, HHA, SHA/SSHA, FMECA, SAR.
- Apply model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and model-based safety analysis (MBSA).
- Communicate findings, build relationships with customers, internal and external stakeholders, and brief leaders/customers.
- Maintain technical and functional understanding of aircraft and related support systems.
Qualifications
- Experience with software safety standards and requirements (e.g., DO-178C, MIL-STD-822, AMCOM385-17, Joint Software Safety Engineering Handbook).
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with civil safety processes (SAE ARP-4761, ARP-4754) and defense safety processes (MIL-STD-882).
- Direct experience in SAE ARP4761 analyses and MIL-STD-882 analyses as listed above.
- Experience in MBSE and MBSA is desired.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Technical and functional understanding of aircraft and aircraft systems.
- Operational understanding of aircraft, aircraft systems, and related support systems.
- 2+ years of experience on aircraft or system development/sustainment programs utilizing structured safety program processes or plans.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM; related degrees with relevant experience considered; advanced degrees considered as additional experience.
- Eligibility to obtain Secret Security Clearance.
- ITAR controlled data environment; only US citizens need apply.
