System Engineer- Wet Equipment

System EngineerApplied Materials is seeking a System Engineer to lead wet equipment definition for 300 mm wafer-level processing. This role bridges process requirements and tool specifications, ensuring alignment between technology needs and equipment capabilities.As a Systems Engineer, you'll design, integrate, and optimize complex systems that drive the semiconductor industry forward. Your expertise in systems thinking and problem-solving is essential as you collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop advanced solutions to intricate processes and writing system specifications.

You'll be responsible for analyzing requirements, defining system architectures, conducting thorough testing, and ensuring seamless integration of subsystems. Additionally, you'll identify and mitigate risks, confirming that our systems meet the highest quality standards and exceed customer expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine requirements for wet processing tools:Cleaning, wet etch, and surface preparationTranslate process needs into equipment specificationsConduct vendor benchmarking and selectionEvaluate tool performance, footprint, throughput, and facility constraintsCollaborate with process, facilities, and integration teamsIdentify gaps between process requirements and available solutionsQualificationsBS/MS in Mechanical, Chemical, or Systems Engineering5+ years of experience in semiconductor processing equipmentStrong knowledge of wet processing systems and chemical handlingExperience with tool selection and vendor engagementNew College Graduate Applicants will NOT be consideredPreferredExperience in advanced packaging or wafer-level substrate processingFamiliarity with fab integration considerations (UPH, automation, factory layout)Additional InformationTime Type: Full timeEmployee Type: Assignee / RegularTravel: Yes, 10% of the TimeRelocation Eligible: NoThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
