Job Overview:
Aerojet Rocketdyne, a leading aerospace propulsion manufacturer, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (L4) to support complex solid rocket propulsion system development. This position is highly technical, requiring expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) , requirements management, and risk analysis. Candidates will work onsite in Huntsville, AL, on a 9/80 schedule and must hold an active Secret clearance .
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and execute systems engineering activities for propulsion systems projects.
* Apply MBSE techniques to manage requirements, verification, and risk.
* Collaborate with engineering leadership and customer stakeholders.
* Develop and analyze system architectures and risk/opportunity models.
* Coordinate and plan engineering tasks to meet schedule and performance goals.
* Use DOORS for requirements management and traceability.
* Support internal reviews, program proposals, and customer meetings.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Systems, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred).
* Minimum of 6+ years (Bachelor's) or 4+ years (Master's) in aerospace or defense systems engineering.
* Active SECRET clearance (must be in place at start).
* Proven experience with MBSE methodologies .
* Proficient with IBM Rational DOORS .
* Experience in risk and opportunity management .
* Solid understanding of solid rocket propulsion fundamentals.
* U.S. Citizenship only (no dual citizens per client requirement).
Preferred Qualifications:
* Familiarity with Cameo , SysML , UML , UPDM .
* Experience in developing proposals, basis of estimates (BOEs) .
* Knowledge of DoD air/ground launched systems .
* Coursework or certification in systems engineering disciplines.
