System Engineer ITPerforms technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Uses the current data center standards and procedures to streamline operations in an efficient and effective manner.Essential Job Functions:Analyzes environment and recommends enhancements to processes, procedures, tool sets, etc. to improve performance, stability and/or maintainabilityConfiguration and continuous administration of server equipmentWorks closely with corporate to implement standards for internal/external security, mail, internet, intranet and VOIPConfigures, maintains and installs server equipment according to industry standardsMonitors system performance, implements corrective action and establishes plans for future system upgradesProvides support for servers and the data centerEstablishes and maintains system users, user directories and securityAnalyzes performance bottlenecks on network, systems and the overall IT infrastructure.
Makes recommendations and implements approved recommendations. This includes but is not limited to the following systems: Active Directory, File servers, SAN, MS cluster, Exchange servers, MSSQL servers, iSeries and network equipmentProvide support for all user facing systems including software and hardware for all platforms, problem determination/isolation, analyzing problem data, performing data analysis, documenting findings, escalating complex problems to the appropriate I.T. staff or service vendors and communicating final resolution to clients and usersIdentify trends in incidents and assist supervisors in root cause analysis and development of resolution or work aroundsMentor and provide networking expertise and advise to IT Team Members in order to facilitate and enhance their networking skillsAssist in compliance of internal procedures and ensure that all procedures that support the property's computer systems are performed according to standardsAssist department management with department-driven or property-driven projectsMaintain the confidential nature of matters pertaining to company records, policies, and customer lists.
