Systems Engineer IIISystems Engineer III will provide day to day operational support for the national provisioning systems. Engineer responsible for the Spectrum Guide Video Platform, Legacy Guide Back offices, and databases belonging to the video platforms. Engineer is responsible for project design, preparation work as related to designs, creation of MOPs (Methods of Procedure), and Maintenance window implementation and training of tier 4 teams.Duties And ResponsibilitiesFamiliar with Version Control Systems (GIT, SVN, RCS, CVS)Basic/Working Knowledge and Experience with automation software (e.g., Puppet, Ansible, Chef)Expert Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues in SQL (rational, and NO-SQL database environments (e.g.
Oracle, Mongo, Cassandra)Advanced Networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP) Expert level Infrastructure knowledge (UCS, VSphere)Expert level experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box)Expert ability to automate deployment and test/validation workflowsAdvanced understanding of VOD asset end-end workflowBasic understanding of SDV workflowExpert cloud experience, preferably in AWSBasic experience with performance tuning and supporting RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.Experience supporting Exadata.Other duties as assigned by the manager.Available to perform maintenance after hours.Role will include on-call duties as assigned. Consistent with a 24 X 7 Operations environment, periodic cell phone availability will be necessary to respond to escalated issues.Basic / Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, and/or equivalent work experience.Minimum of Five (5) years of engineering work experienceMinimum of Two (2) years Unix administration experience.Additional Job QualificationsMust be available for planned after-hours maintenance.
