Nuclear Systems EngineerLocation: MichiganOpenings: 4Work Model: Fully RemoteJob Type: ContractDuration: 1 Year Rate: $62.75/hour (W2) + BenefitsHours: 40 hours/weekProject: Nuclear Systems Engineer contributing and being a key technical member of the Fleet System Engineering team and responsible for interfacing with multiple Engineering disciplines, Business Managers, Project Managers, and customers. The Lead Systems Engineer will be challenged with complex technical issues in a dynamic project environment. In this role you will be responsible for performing technical design, evaluation and delivery of major and complex assignments supporting the fleet operating BWRsEssential ResponsibilitiesPerform EPU evaluation for various NSSS systemsWork with a team of Engineers to support general system evaluations and other systems related emergent requests.

Lead and conduct calculations, design analyses, evaluations, and verifications for various BWR safety and non-safety system functionsApply engineering knowledge and practical experience to the analysis, investigation, and solution of complex design problems and application issuesQualifications / RequirementsBachelor's degree in engineering or related area from an accredited college or universityMinimum of 5 years of experience working with Nuclear Plant Safety Systems and ComponentsMinimum of 5 years of experience working with multi-disciplined Engineering or Operations teams on BWR Nuclear Power Plant SystemsAdditional Desired CharacteristicsIn-depth knowledge of BWR reactor major NSSS systems (such as CRD, Recirculation, ECCS, RWCU, SLC, Main Steam – MSIVs and SRVs, HPCI, RCIC, HPCS) and their operationFamiliar of setpoint calculation standards and regulations such as: ISA and RG 1.105Proven technical skills within project management environmentProven oral / written communication and teamwork skillsCommercial Nuclear Power Plant Systems experienceDemonstrated ability to perform while challenged by multiple demands and changing prioritiesStrong interpersonal and leadership skillsExcellent oral and written communication skills, including customer interface experienceDemonstrated leadership skills, including a minimum of 2 years of experience as a lead or lead contributor on major projectsKnowledge of BWR nuclear plant systems and analyses techniques, commercial plant outages, and nuclear industry practicesExperience with design, evaluation, and operation of nuclear power plant components, primarily BWRs
