System Engineer 3Location: Waynesboro, GAClient-Southern NuclearContract-6 MonthsJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced System Engineer to design, implement, and maintain complex control and automation systems within industrial plant environments. This role works closely with cross-functional engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to optimize plant processes, improve system reliability, and support safe, efficient operations.Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Design & IntegrationDesign and develop control systems, instrumentation, and automation solutions for plant equipment and processes.Integrate plant subsystems including PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and HMI platforms into a cohesive, plant-wide control architecture.Review and interpret P&IDs (Process & Instrumentation Diagrams) to support system design and implementation.Operations & TroubleshootingDiagnose and resolve system-related issues to minimize downtime and ensure reliable plant operation.Provide technical support during system startup, upgrades, and operational changes.Process OptimizationAnalyze system and process data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.Recommend and implement solutions to enhance productivity, reliability, and cost efficiency.Maintenance & ComplianceOversee system maintenance activities, upgrades, and preventive maintenance strategies.Ensure all systems comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental requirements.Support documentation, testing, and change management processes.QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.Experience10+ years of experience in industrial automation, control systems, or process engineering.Experience working in industrial plants, power generation, or manufacturing environments preferred.Technical SkillsProficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell).Strong knowledge of SCADA and HMI systems.Experience with control system integration and plant automation architectures.Familiarity with instrumentation, sensors, and process controls.
