System Administrator, Level 1 (FORECASTED)

System Administrator, Level 1As a System Administrator, Level 1 at Independent Software, you will provide hands-on support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems supporting mission-critical operations. You will assist in managing system infrastructure and ensuring systems are operating efficiently, securely, and reliably. You will support day-to-day IT operations, including monitoring systems, resolving technical issues, and assisting users with system access and functionality.

This role is ideal for someone with foundational system administration experience looking to grow in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.Key Responsibilities:Provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systemsMonitor system performance and assist with problem identification and resolutionProvide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support for IT-related issuesAssist users with accessing and utilizing IT systems and applicationsSupport day-to-day operations of client/server, storage, network, and mobile devicesInstall, configure, and maintain operating systems (Linux and/or Windows)Assist with system configuration, patching, and updatesSupport escalation and communication of issues to management and stakeholdersMaintain system documentation and follow established proceduresAssist in optimizing system performance and resource utilizationRequired Skills and Qualifications:Experience supporting IT systems in a system administration or help desk environmentBasic knowledge of Linux and/or Windows operating systemsUnderstanding of system troubleshooting and problem resolution processesFamiliarity with IT infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage)Ability to support users and communicate technical issues clearlyStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or universityFive (5) years of System Administrator experience on programs of similar scope, type, and complexityORFive (5) additional years of System Administrator experience may be substituted for a degreeCertifications:DoD -M compliant with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level IIClearance Requirement:Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role**This position is contingent on contract award** Why Choose Independent Software: At Independent Software, our people are the mission.
