Position OverviewProvide telephone switchboard and communication support for a VA Medical Center, ensuring all incoming calls, paging, and emergency communications are handled promptly and professionally.Key ResponsibilitiesAnswer incoming calls within 3 rings and route appropriatelyProvide general information and directory assistanceOperate telephone switchboard systems and overhead paging and radio communication systemsHandle emergency calls (Code Blue, fire alarms, etc.)Dispatch messages and coordinate emergency communicationsAssist with outgoing and long-distance callsMaintain accurate logs and recordsProtect patient information in compliance with HIPAAQualificationsExperience in call center, switchboard, or customer service roleStrong communication and multitasking skillsAbility to remain calm under pressureBasic computer and phone system skillsHealthcare experience (preferred)
