Role Specifics

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer the SVP Enterprise Applications is accountable for the end to end ownership of the credit union’s enterprise application platforms, including core banking, batch processing, application lifecycle management, integration, and application level automation.

The SVP, Enterprise Applications oversees stable, scalable, and secure enterprise systems that support business growth and operational efficiency ensuring a consistent member experience. This role owns application management, leads platform modernization and ensures technology aligns with organizational goals through governance, integration, and automation. This position is intentionally focused on enterprise applications as business platforms, not on infrastructure operations or data analytics, and serves as the primary executive owner of application performance, reliability, and value delivery.

Major Duties + Responsibilities

  • Provides executive leadership and accountability for the enterprise application portfolio, including core banking systems, batch processing platforms, and critical business applications. Ensures application platforms are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. Establishes clear ownership, operating models, and performance expectations for all enterprise systems.
  • Oversees core processing and batch operations, including day to day system stability, release coordination, parameter changes, vendor operational management, and workload automation. Ensures core platforms support business continuity, regulatory requirements, and growth objectives while minimizing operational risk and manual effort.
  • Leads the integration and automation strategy for enterprise applications, ensuring systems are effectively connected across business units and external partners. Drives standardization of interfaces, workflows, and automation patterns to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and accelerate delivery of business outcomes.
  • Establishes and executes the enterprise application strategy, including application rationalization, upgrades, configuration enhancements, and targeted internal development. Partners with executive leadership and business stakeholders to prioritize initiatives based on value, risk, and organizational impact.
  • Builds, leads, and develops enterprise application teams, including application product owners, analysts, application support, integration, and automation resources. Promotes a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, ensuring teams are aligned to platform ownership rather than departmental demand. Manage and mentor programming, application support, and systems development staff, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Knowledge + Skills

Experience

Ten or more years of progressive experience overseeing Enterprise Applications for a financial institution including systems integration, automation, and development. This role requires a high level of trust, credibility, and diplomacy. The SVP must be able to engage in strategic discussions with senior leadership, direct and indirect reports, and external vendors. Communications will

involve motivating, influencing, educating, and advising others on matters of significance, often of a sensitive or confidential nature.

Education/Certification/Licenses

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required. A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field is beneficial. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Interpersonal Skills

Work frequently involves contacts requiring considerable discussion of problems, material presentations, and resolving issues impacting multiple departments or divisions. The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of professional diplomacy, trust and relationship. Obtaining cooperation and agreement (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job and a expert level of interpersonal and written communication skills are critical to the success of this position.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous

different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
