JMT is currently ranked #45 on Engineering News-Record's list of the Top 500 Design Firms.Position Summary: Responsible for the overall completion of the data processing phase of specific field survey projects.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesPerforms topographic plotting, terrain modeling, plat preparation, note reduction and design file generationPerform office survey activities in accordance with Minimum Standards of Practice for SurveyingPerform property owner and utility records researchPerforms office computations necessary for the completion of task assignments including QA/QC.Tracks job progressCoordinates information for stakeout servicesAnalyzes raw data for mathematical closure and geometric accuracyPrepares finished grade sheets, topographic maps, records of survey, corner records and other survey reportsNonessential Functions and ResponsibilitiesPerform other related duties as assignedRequired SkillsMust successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screeningValid Driver's License RequiredAble to pass Background CheckRequired ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentSkills in coordinate geometry and trigonometryFamiliarity with third party software for data reduction and drafting including AutoCAD or Carlson preferred and MicroStation.Preferred ExperienceRelated experienceWorking ConditionsWork is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking.
Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.Field work is required 5% of the time, where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
