Role Overview:
Surgical Technologist responsible for supporting surgical procedures, ensuring aseptic techniques, and maintaining patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons during surgeries of all ages, preparing and connecting clinical equipment.
- Practice aseptic techniques, including scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and draping.
- Participate in surgical briefings, verify surgical sites, and maintain accurate supply and specimen documentation.
- Assist with wound assessment, dressing changes, and specimen handling.
- Support patient admission, discharge, and post-mortem care, and perform billing as needed.
- Participate in on-call rotations and act as a preceptor for students.
- Adhere to policies, perform quality control, and ensure medication and solution labeling accuracy.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Surgical Technology.
- Ability to assist with procedures, maintain sterile environment, and follow safety protocols.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Applicants graduating after a certain date must become certified within six months.
