Location: UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central, Colorado Springs, CO

Department: Enterprise Float Pool

Work Schedule: Full Time, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Flex

Pay: $27.61 - $41.41 per hour (dependent on experience)

Position Type: Onsite only; no hybrid or remote option

Summary

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
  • Ensures equipment and instruments are in good working order.
  • Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
  • P passes instruments to physician during surgery.
  • Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
  • Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
  • Uses critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and works with minimal supervision.
  • Works in a fast‑paced environment and takes appropriate actions.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma, GED, or military training.
  • Licensure/Certification: State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration; Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
  • Minimum Experience: 6 months surgical tech experience or graduate of an accredited surgical tech program.
  • Must hold a valid BLS or CPR card from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, valid through 60 days of hire.
