Surgical Technologist - Per Diem

Join our surgical services team at Coulee Medical Center and experience all rural healthcare has to offer! We are seeking a Surgical Technologist for per diem coverage; primarily weekend on-call, with occasional weekday needs. Typical cases involve obstetric and occasional general surgeries, with complex opportunities. The per diem Surgical Technologist assists the surgeon during operative and invasive procedures, ensuring operating suite is adequately prepared for procedure. This position will monitor PAR levels of all surgical instruments and supplies, properly clean operating rooms following procedures, as well as clean and sterilize all surgical instruments. The per diem position is expected to also participate in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon during operative and invasive procedures and ensure the operating suite is adequately prepared for procedures.
• Monitor PAR levels of all surgical instruments and supplies; clean operating rooms following procedures; clean and sterilize all surgical instruments.
• Participate in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology or on-the-job training may be provided at Coulee Medical Center for appropriate candidate; must be registered through Washington State
• Current BLS Certification
• Per diem employees are not eligible for benefits, but will receive a 15% differential on top of base wage, as well as Paid Sick Leave accrual (.025/hr)
