Surgical Technologist - Outpatient

Role Overview

Assists surgical teams in the Operating Room and clinic with procedures and patient care. Responsible for preparing the OR, organizing equipment, assisting surgeons as a scrub person, maintaining a sterile field, and verifying surgical specimens and implants.

Key Duties

• Set up and organize OR for surgeries, including emergency cases.
• Assist surgeons during procedures, handling instruments efficiently and maintaining sterility.
• Support circulating nurses with instrument, needle, and sponge counts.
• Operate and maintain OR machinery and sterilization equipment, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Assist with patient transport to the OR and sterilization processes, including decontamination and assembly of surgical tools.
• Contribute to staff training and orientation.

Qualifications & Skills

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program.
• Preferred certification as a Certified Surgical Tech (CST) and 1-3 years of experience.
• Strong communication skills, visual acuity, and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Commitment to safety, confidentiality, and adherence to healthcare standards.
