Role Summary
This position provides direct patient care in a clinical setting, utilizing the nursing process and practicing within the scope of a Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist. The role involves supporting women’s care units, including Mother/Baby, Labor and Delivery, and NICU, following evidence-based standards and certifications such as RNC-OB, C-EFM, NRP, and CCRN.
Responsibilities
- Perform surgical assisting and technical tasks to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes
- Prioritize patient wellness, safety, and evidence-based practices
- Precept and mentor new healthcare staff and students
- Contribute to maintaining a secure and efficient clinical environment
Qualifications & Skills
- High School diploma, GED, or military training
- State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration
- Minimum 6 months surgical tech experience or accredited graduate
- BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross, valid through 60 days of hire
