Overview
Participates as a member of the OR team, preparing for surgery, setting up surgical instruments and equipment, assisting in surgery and maintaining surgical suites.
Responsibilities
- Shares in OR suite cleaning, preparation, use and maintenance of specialized equipment & supplies used for surgical procedures.
- Maintains sterilization techniques and disposal of hazardous waste.
- Uses surgical instruments and knowledge of the step-by-step sequences for surgical procedures.
- Handles surgical specimens.
- Files and copies path and procedure chart reports.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of a Surgical Technology School or program recognized by the Association of Surgical Technologists preferred.
- 2 years of experience as a surgical technologist
- Knowledge of Orthopaedic, GYN, and General Surgery preferred.
- Currently Registered with the New Hampshire Board of Registration for Medical Technicians
Required Licensure/Certifications
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
- (BLS) Basic Life Support
- Area of Interest: Allied Health
- Pay Range: $28.00/Hr. - $39.20/Hr.
- FTE/Hours per pay period: .01 hrs/per week (per diem/temp)
