SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST I - Full Time Days

Summary

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist I acts as a scrub person who handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during surgical procedures. This role anticipates the needs of the surgeon and surgical team, supports quality patient care, and assists with various support services including transportation, inventory management, environmental cleanliness, and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff. Additional assignments in other ancillary perioperative services may occur.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field.
• Support the surgical team throughout procedures.
• Assist the Registered Nurse, Anesthesia, and surgical staff in developing care plans for each procedure.
• Provide direct assistance to patients, visitors, and staff as needed.
• Perform independent inventory management and equipment setup.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months of experience as a Surgical Technologist in any operating room environment, with scrub experience in orthopedics, neurosurgery, or general surgery preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NCCT or NBSTSA.
• Graduated from an approved Surgical Technologist program.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a perioperative team.
• Strong communication and situational awareness skills.
• Maintain CST certification throughout employment.

Salary Range

$26.96 – $41.15 per hour.
