Overview
Job Summary
Assists team during operation/procedure by arranging, inventorying and maintaining sterile set up as indicated for procedure, and passes items as needed. Also, assists in moving patients and in cleaning. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Assists in providing intraoperative care and deliveries.
- Provides and adequately utilizes equipment and supplies based on patient needs in a safe manner.
- Performs activities that demonstrate technical accountability.
- Participates in ongoing educational activities.
- Completes assigned goals.
Specifications
Education
Minimum Required
- Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral, and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties.
Training
Minimum Required
- Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technologists. National certification as a surgical technician.
- 20 Hours of continuing education annually
Special Skills
Minimum Required
- Computer literacy.
- Be a member of a professional organization.
Licensure
Minimum Required
- BLS CERTIFICATION WITHIN 14 DAYS OF HIRE
- CPR
- Hold current national certification through appropriate/approved accreditation body or five (5) years of previous cardiovascular surgery experience.
