They are responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, managing surgical instruments, and assisting with surgical draping specific to plastic surgery operations. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the efficiency and effectiveness of surgical interventions within a healthcare setting focused on plastic and reconstructive surgery.

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sterile techniques and operating room protocols.
• Experience or training in surgical site preparation and instrument handling.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

• Previous experience specifically in plastic surgery operating rooms.
• Advanced knowledge of plastic surgery procedures and instrumentation.
• Additional certifications related to surgical technology or perioperative nursing.
• Strong time management skills demonstrated in a clinical setting.
• Experience with instrument cleaning and maintenance protocols in healthcare.

• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes specific to plastic surgery procedures.
• Assist in surgical site preparation by ensuring proper sterilization and adherence to infection control protocols.
• Manage and maintain surgical instruments during procedures, including passing instruments to surgeons and anticipating their needs.
• Clean, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and equipment following each procedure to maintain readiness for subsequent surgeries.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of plastic surgery operations.

Tuesday - Friday 7:00am - 5:30pm
Tuesdays and Thursdays: assist with surgical turnovers, cleaning instruments and preparing materials for upcoming surgeries.
Wednesdays and Fridays: surgical tech in the operating room.
