Shift Details
The ASC is open Monday through Friday. Flexible start times from . Candidate must have at least 1 year prior experience in the OR, pain, and/or GI setting. Holidays: none. Weekends: none.
Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. They understand the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon, ensuring quality patient care during the operative procedure and maintaining the sterile field. They also perform related duties as needed to maintain department cost containment, efficiency, and quality performance.
Experience
A minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Surgical Technologist is required. The candidate must be competent in the role and display advanced knowledge and ability to independently perform tasks related to surgical technology. Anticipating surgeons’ needs and being recognized as advanced in the field is essential. Ability to first assist is preferred.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Post‑high‑school education, certification, or diploma in surgical technology is required, such as completion of a Surgical Technologist program, Military Operating Room Specialist course, or the Froedtert Health sponsored Apprentice II program.
Licence
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA‑approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Certification as a Surgical Technologist is highly preferred.
