River Hospital is seeking a per diem Surgical Technologist to join our Ambulatory Surgical Unit Team.
Job purpose
A clinically competent certified surgical technologist who provides immediate, specialized care with a multidisciplinary Ambulatory Surgery service provider team. Must possess basic knowledge and practical skills. The Certified Surgical Technologist will work with the Registered Nurse in the care and planning of all surgical interventions in a logical sequence according to established surgeon preference sheets, scheduled procedure, and/or individual patient care needs.
Qualifications
It is the employee's responsibility to know the requirements for certification, limited permit and licensure for their individual profession. It is also the responsibility of the employee to notify the employer of the status of any certification or licensure issue or potential issue. The employee will comply with all of the requirements outlined by the New York State Office of professions for the particular profession.
Working conditions and Physical requirements
Regular weekday shifts. OSHA Category A - potential for exposure to blood and other infectious body substances. Bending, lifting, standing, walking, must possess the physical ability to perform CPR.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Technologist Program
- Valid and currently registered as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
- Current BLS certification or obtained within first six months of hire.
- Two years of Surgical TechnicianTechnologist experience, preferred.
- Demonstrates knowledge of basic surgical instrumentation, surgical procedures, and the ability to use that knowledge to individualize the plan and delivery of care.
