Position Overview

Location: OE Fenney Wildwood , Wildwood, FL 34785.

Position type: Part‑time.

Opening for Certified Surgical Technologist at our Wildwood Surgery Center.

Overall Responsibility

• Provides assistance to the physician during the surgical case, including gathering and preparing supplies/equipment for case.
• Ensures aseptic and sterile technique throughout procedure.
• Maintains cleanliness of room for turnover between cases.
• Identifies instruments with damaged or improper function, and notifies Safety Officer of needed replacement/repair.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities of Surgical Technologist

• Assist physician by passing instruments during the surgical case.
• Responsible for gathering and preparing supplies and equipment for surgical cases.
• Assist Materials Manager and Clinical Manager in maintaining adequate level of supplies and instruments for use by the Center.
• Adheres to established Center safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Demonstrates the safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation.
• Prepares OR suites and equipment prior to procedures according to Facilities policies and specific physicians.

Licensure and Certification

• Certified Surgical Technologist. Previous experience with ophthalmology preferred.

Job Type

Part‑time. No call, nights or weekends.

Required Education

• High school or equivalent.

Required Experience

• Scrub Tech: 1 year.

Qualifications

Applicants must be certified Surgical Technologist with at least one year of scrub tech experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a strong knowledge of ophthalmic surgical procedures and aseptic technique.
