Job Summary
Sign on Bonus: Up to $10, 00 Bonus Based on Eligibility
Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well asappropriatesterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
- Hands required/requested instruments and supplies tosurgeonduring surgery.
- Assistswith preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
- Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors/tracksinstruments countsthroughout procedures.
- Placesequipment and supplies in the operatingor labor & deliveryroomsand arranges instruments according to preference cards.Cleansand checksequipmentarea.
- Handsinstruments and supplies to surgeon, holds retractors, cuts sutures, and performs other technical tasks as directed by surgeon during operation.Orders, stocks, andmaintainssupplies for theOR andC-section suites.
- Organizesinpreparation for end of case andassistsincleanup and turnover of rooms.Disposesof all sharps, biohazardous waste items appropriately.Handlesspecimens properly.
- Reportsobservations of changes inpatient’sconditions and level of consciousness to an RN or LPNin a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of Surgical Technologists course from an accredited facility.
- Experience
- Must be able to work variable shifts,holidaysand/or weekends.
- Must be able to take call rotation when required.
- Must be able to perform all duties, including lifting and transferring, using proper body mechanics.
- Licensure/Certifications: BLS

- Experience
- Knowledgeof hospital environment desired.
- Previoushospital and/or health care related experience preferred
- Licensure/Certifications: CST (Certified Surgical Technologist)
