Unit Information: Number of Beds: 2 CVOR rooms. Number of Staff: 9. Type of Staff: Day Shift includes 4 full-time RNs, 1 PT RN, and 4 Scrub Techs. Night Shift Call Coverage: Required. Patient Ratios: Not applicable. Type of Equipment: Not applicable. EMR: Meditech. On Call Requirement: About 10 days a month. Floating Requirement: Not applicable. Typical Hiring Profile: Skill Set Most Recruited For: Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters. Must Have: Candidates without CVOR experience will not be considered for the role. Preferred: Candidates with Pediatric CVOR experience will be prioritized. Typical Procedures Performed: Open heart surgery. Best Personality Fit: Ability to work in a stressful environment and possess critical thinking skills. Ability to adapt to patient care situations in the open-heart environment. Unit Guidelines/Policies: Call is required after hours and on weekends. Additional Information: Dedicated pediatric congenital heart team that collaborates effectively. The heart center has recently opened a new 25-bed cardiac ICU. Two congenital heart surgeons are part of the team.
