Surgical Services Equipment And Instrument SpecialistThe Surgical Services Equipment and Instrument Specialist provides expert clinical and technical support for assigned surgical service lines by ensuring all equipment, instrumentation, and supplies are available, functional, and ready for use on the day of surgery. This role serves as a key liaison between Surgical Services and Supply Chain, supporting product evaluation, standardization, education, and operational efficiency across the OR environment.What You Will DoEnsure availability and functionality of standard and specialized surgical equipment and instrumentationServe as the primary liaison between Surgical Services and Supply Chain for equipment, instruments, materials, and disposablesSupport product evaluations, trials, and standardization initiatives to improve quality and cost effectivenessCoordinate with Sterile Processing, OR staff, physicians, vendors, and Supply Chain partnersMaintain and optimize surgeon preference cardsProvide education, training, and troubleshooting support for OR teamsAssist with inventory management, special orders, and equipment repairsParticipate in value analysis, utilization review, and sourcing activitiesScrub in on cases as needed to maintain clinical expertise and support staff developmentMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma required; Associate degree preferredGraduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program with current CST certification requiredMust be CST IV, Specialized CST, or higher per organizational CST ladder (Internal)RNs with advanced equipment and instrumentation expertise will be consideredExpert knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and instrumentationExperience with supply chain processes, inventory management, and preference cardsWhy Saint AlphonsusSaint Alphonsus Health System is a faith?based, not?for?profit health system serving Idaho, Oregon, and northern Nevada.
