Overview
Coordinating and supervision of nursing care delivered in the Surgical Services and Central Sterile Department. Twenty‑four hour accountability and responsibility of Surgical Services in accordance with hospital policy and regulations. Pay based on experience starting at $94,348.80.
Responsibilities
- Completes evaluations on a timely basis.
- Conducts appropriate education and training sessions.
- Conducts department meetings on a monthly basis, communicating appropriate information.
- Ensures assigned departments participate in PI teams and CQI process.
- Ensures positive employee climate within assigned departments.
- Ensures that Joint Commission and other applicable accrediting body standards are met for assigned departments.
- Has technical equipment and processes in place to promote positive outcomes.
- Implements quality control measures which ensure positive outcomes on a daily basis for all patients and/or customers.
- Initiates operations efficiencies to improve assigned departments.
- Initiates planning and implementation for new services as related to assigned duties.
- Meets or exceeds customer expectation as measured:
- Patients satisfaction survey
- Physicians satisfaction survey
- Employees satisfaction survey
- Meets or exceeds financial budgets for revenues, expenses (including FTEs) and capital expenditures for assigned department.
- Participates in management team meetings.
- Participates in community organizations, community functions, speaking engagements as a member of the management team.
- Responsible for hiring and terminations in assigned department.
- Responsible for the planning, supervision, coordination and successful execution of all activities related to the department’s operations.
- Reviews and revises Policy and Procedure manual annually.
- Schedules staff to meet customer needs based on activity and volumes.
- Supports administrative management decisions in assigned departments.
- Takes corrective action as required based on personnel policies.
Requirements
- BSN (Required)
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 90 days of hire)
- BLS or CPR certification (within 90 days of hire)
- RN – Registered Nurse, Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
Compensation
Estimated compensation range: $94,348.80 – $146,244.80. Pay based on experience. Eligible for participation in Management Incentive Compensation program.
