Surgical Nurse

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join a multispecialty outpatient surgical team in West Orange, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in perioperative nursing, excellent clinical assessment skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients before and during surgical procedures.
• Prepare operating rooms, patients, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons and other clinical professionals throughout procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection prevention and patient safety protocols.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to clinical changes.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and surgical staff to ensure efficient patient care.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
• Minimum of 2 years of operating room nursing experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and surgical procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary surgical environment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and clinical assessment skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in gynecological (GYN) surgical procedures.
• Previous experience in an outpatient or ambulatory surgery center.
• Multispecialty surgical nursing experience.

Schedule

Monday–Friday 7:00/7:30am-3:00p/4:00pm, rotating weekends
