To ensure timely and accurate authorizations for surgical cases, the full-time Surgical Authorization Specialist will monitor authorizations, verify patient information and insurance eligibility, and assist with surgical cost analysis in a remote setting. Key responsibilities Monitor and obtain authorizations for upcoming surgical cases on physicians' calendars Verify patient demographics and insurance eligibility, updating necessary information for claims processing Document authorizations and progress in patient charts and assist with training staff on new processes Required qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in the healthcare field, preferably in referrals/authorizations or front office roles Strong organizational skills and a customer service orientation Working knowledge of eligibility, verification of benefits, and prior authorizations from various payers Proficient in computer skills and data entry Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines
