Surgery - Thoracic Physician

We are seeking a Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon for locum tenens coverage at a hospital-based practice in Lima, Ohio . This assignment offers 24-hour call coverage with emergency privileging available for a qualified physician.

• Coverage Dates: September 11, 2026 at 7:00 AM through September 16, 2026 at 7:00 AM
• Schedule: 24-hour call coverage
• Practice Setting: Hospital-based rounding
• Patient Population: Adults
• Average Volume: Approximately 1 case per day
• Trauma Designation: Level II
• Operating Rooms: 20
• EMR: Epic
• Support Staff: Three Physician Assistants
• Ongoing Coverage: Potential need for 10 to 14 call days per month
• Credentialing: Approximately 30 days; emergency privileging may be considered

The physician must be comfortable independently performing:

• Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
• Arterial revascularization using internal mammary, radial, or gastroepiploic arteries
• Redo coronary revascularization, with or without heart valve surgery
• Pericardial window
• Heart valve repair and replacement
• Mitral valve repair

• Board Certified
• Active and unrestricted Ohio medical license
• Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Available for the full September 11 to September 16 coverage period
• Able to perform all required procedures
• Epic experience preferred

• Lodging reimbursed at approximately $150 per night
• Other approved travel booked at standard or economy rates
