Surgery Scheduler, Invasive Cardiology

Overview

This position supports procedural scheduling for Invasive Cardiology, including the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, and cardiovascular procedures. It also encompasses Patient Access roles responsible for managing patient entry points into the healthcare system, including scheduling, registration, and verifying insurance. Patient access staff ensure patients can efficiently navigate administrative processes while maintaining data accuracy and enhancing the patient experience.

Individual contributors provide support to Invasive Cardiology at UVA Health, often in direct service, operational, technical or administrative functions, spending the majority of time in the delivery of support services or activities, typically under supervision. This role is described as an experienced individual contributor who may work under limited supervision for routine situations and may independently develop solutions to non-routine problems.

Responsibilities

• Support procedural scheduling for Invasive Cardiology services, including the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, and cardiovascular procedures.
• Assist with Patient Access duties: scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and ensuring data accuracy to improve the patient experience.
• Provide direct or indirect support to Invasive Cardiology teams in administrative, operational, technical, or service activities.
• Operate under supervision for routine tasks while applying problem-solving skills to non-routine situations and communicating practices and policies to others as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or equivalent required. Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience: Internal candidates – demonstrated proficiency in duties of the Access Associate Senior role. External candidates – 3 years of experience in a clinical setting (hospital, surgery center, or ambulatory clinic) in an administrative or clinical role required.
• License/Certification: None required. For Access Lead positions, CHAA or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) by HFMA required within 18 months of hire date.

General Information

The pay range for this role is $21.50 - $33.28 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
