Job Description

The Scheduler Is Responsible For

• Effectively and efficiently addresses the needs of both internal and external customers when scheduling patients by carefully collecting demographic, insurance, and procedure information.
• Accurately schedule procedures.
• Deliver complex clinical examination instructions.
• Document patient response to clinical questions.
• Keep the patients physician and hospital offices current with information about their scheduled procedures.
• Must be familiar with payer guidelines for balancing authorization requirements with scheduled appointment dates.
• Perform general clerical support that includes answering telephones, data entry, communication, and other assigned duties.
• Must be flexible and willing to rotate shifts periodically.
• Must be able to travel within the BayCare Health System area using personal transportation.

Required

• Education: High School or Equivalent.

Experience

• Required: 1 year customer service or 1 year healthcare.
