Surgery - Neurosurgery Physician

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Neurosurgery experience for a locum need in Virginia , beginning in mid-December 2026 . This is a full-time, inpatient position providing coverage for a maternity leave through at least April 2027. The schedule offers consistent weekday hours with no call requirements .

Assignment Details

• One APP needed

Schedule

• Monday Friday

• 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

• 40 hours per week

• No call

• No weekends listed

Practice Setting

• 100% inpatient/hospital-based

• Neurosurgery

• Adult and geriatric patient population

• Epic EMR

• Patient census varies

Responsibilities

• Provide post-procedural daily care

• Manage hospitalized neurosurgical patients

• Patient and family communication

• Patient and family education

• Collaborate with an employed Neurosurgery NP

• Coordinate care within the inpatient neurosurgical team

Requirements

• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

• Board Certification required

• Active Virginia license required at submission

• Candidates requiring Virginia licensure will not be considered

• Active DEA required

• Active ACLS required

• Active BLS required

• Clean background required

• No malpractice or licensing issues accepted

Credentialing

• Estimated credentialing timeframe: Approximately 120 days

• Temporary privileges may be available

Ideal Candidate

An experienced Neurosurgery NP or PA with an active Virginia license who is comfortable managing inpatient post-procedural care and collaborating closely with the neurosurgical team. This opportunity is particularly well suited for an APP seeking a full-time Monday Friday schedule with no call .
