Surgery - General Physician

• Schedule: Every weekend coverage from Thursday 7:00 PM thru Monday 7:00 AM, or every other weekend coverage from Thursday 7:00 PM thru Monday 7:00 AM. Start Date: 1/1/2027, ongoing.
• Job Setting: Inpatient; Call Only (Beeper Call); Trauma Level 3 Facility
• Types of Cases:
  • General Surgery - Adult (Required)
  • Trauma (Required)
  • Laparoscopic Surgery - Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Hernioplasty, Nissen Fundoplication (Preferred)
  • Chest Tube Insertion (Preferred)
  • Central Line Insertion (Preferred)
  • Call Type: Beeper; 30-minute response time required
  • Call Ratio: 1:4; Phone Consults: 3; Patients Seen per Shift: 8; Beds in Department: 15
  • Admissions: Hospitalist Admit
  • Rounding: Assigned and Unassigned Patients
  • EMR System: Epic
  • Allowed Holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
• Credentialing: Estimated credentialing timeframe: 60 days. Temporary privileges not available. Malpractice insurance provided by vendor. Lodging: Provider's choice up to $200/night without hospital approval. Nearest Airport: Indianapolis (IND).

• Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified or Board Eligible required. Fellowship required.
• Certifications: BLS required
• Licensure: Must be licensed in Indiana only. IMLC not accepted.
